  1. Sure - why not?

Sherbrooke isn't as big, busy and polluted as Montreal (which can't be bad), of course, but there's still plenty to do there, I'm sure!

If you like the "small town" feel to a city, you'll feel right at home, I can assure you!

Not to mention that Sherbrooke is part of the Eastern Townships (Cantons de l'Est) - which is an absolutely beautiful and breathtaking region of Quebec.

    Nature is amazing out there!

You'll also be a lot closer to the U.S border (Vermont) living and studying in Sherbrooke than if you were to stay in Montreal.

Magog and Eastman aren't too far either and all those beautiful lakes too - let's not forget!

You cannot possibly go wrong there!

I hope you know how to swim!

    Good luck!

  2. I've never lived in Sherbrooke, but I liked it when I visited there. It has a nice little downtown area with some good restaurants, boutiques, etc. It's all a question of what you're into- if you like the energy of a large city, you'd do better to study in Montréal. (The Université Laval in Québec City is another option- that city is far larger than Sherbrooke, but far smaller than Montréal.) I would recommend going to a French-language university if you're going to study in French-Canada, but I'm admittedly biased- born in France, used to live there, and was at one point seriously considering studying in French-Canada myself. I have to assume you speak French- you might want to consider asking these questions in French here: http://qc.answers.yahoo.com/dir/;_ylt=An...
