Is Sicily generally cheaper than mainland Italy?

Question

I am heading to San Vito lo Capo near Trapani, Sicily. I was just wanting to get an idea of the prices there. What could I roughly expect to pay for a pint of beer or a meal from a bar? Is Sicily cheaper than mainland Italy? Any comparisons would help.

ma che dite?? la Sicilia, turisticamente è cara quanto il resto dell'Italia! Provate ad andare a Taormina o in tutto il litorale Messinese e vedete quanto vi costa di vitto e alloggio!

Yes, sicily is generally cheaper than mainland. To tell you the truth the whole south of Italy is cheaper than the north.

You can eat with 10 euros in a bar, and a pint of beer is about 4 euros. Don't travel by train, you should prefer buses.

Of course Sicily is cheaper! At summer I went to Messina because I have my relatives there and everything is less expensive than northern Italy!!XD

sicily is surely less expansive than other italian regions,as for example lombardia,piemonte,toscana,veneto..i'm italian and i believe that it's a very fantastic place..you can eat with 8 euro in a bar or,if you want,you can go to a restaurant where u can eat with about 20 euro..

a pint of beer costs about 3.50 or 4 euro..i hope you'll like sicily..have a nice trip! kisses

ciao, j know Sicily very well as my mother was born in Marsala and we spend the summer there, we have been in San Vito many times and can assure you that is much cheaper there than in the north of Italy, especially the food,n ot forget to bargain over the prices,especially in the market,if u have patient and be polite u could get fresh vegetable.fruit, fresh fish for half  the price u have been asked to-Sweets, ice cream, pasta, vegetables are  gorgeous!! try the couscous in tavola calda, they have fresh food to take away.. U do have to visit Erice, near Tapani, the Egadi islands,Marsala,the beatiful beach of Scopello and ifu still have time dont' miss the beautifull Palermo with his huge normanno, Arabic and Barocco monuments... wish u great time...mind your pocket anyway!!!
