I was looking for the best full suspension mountain bike i can get for £250 and under, i know argos is hardly the best place to go looking fo a mountain bike, i have looked in other places as well, but i found this silverfox bike -

It looks pretty good, but i was wondering if its a good make?

Has anyone else got anything to say about silverfox?

Is there anything in particular i should know?

Thanks very much

  1. Hello,

Without putting you hopes down, buying a full suspension bike under £800 is very risky! That is of course, if you are planning to do proper mountain biking. If you were to take the silverfox bike on a Mountain bike trial, it would not stand up to the force put on it. Even good hardtails (front suspension only) are hard to find under £400.

It all boils down to what you are going to do with it.

Pedal around the streets? Take it down some country lanes? Take it to the trails? Blast it down a downhill course?

Regarding the silverfox bike, it is covered by what i said before. Good disc brakes usually cost around £100, and as for the fork, they usually cost £300 minimum.

So therefore, I strongly suggest that you look at a higher price band.

Here is a very good hardtail, for its price. - Focus Bikes Fat Boy -£479.99. http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/b...

Hope this all helps. If you need any more advice don't hesitate to e-mail me.
