Is Smirnoff strong???

Is Smirnoff very strong because i know its vodka and i know how strong some of them can be so is it strong?? Im makin margaritas and i need to know sooo HELP!

Smirnoff is rather standard at 40% ABV but they also make triple distilled Smirnoff (in the blue bottle) that is 50% ABV so that specific variety is stronger than most standard liquor.  All liquor is strong though.

Margaritas with vodka?  Never heard of that, generally you'd want tequila for that.

It's strong yes a good recipe is a watermelon Joly rancher.  

1 cup of Sprite zero a cup of cranberry juice an ounce of triple sec and ounce of watermelon Smirnoff add a splash of lime juice and your set for one serving multiply by how many people your serving and the cocktail's are on. The recipes of the other answers are great also.

The standard strength of spirits (e.g. gin. brandy, vodka), as JohnO says, is 40%. Some premium or bottled-for-export brands ones are more than that; some cheap are only 37%. It should certainly say somewhere on the label how strong your particular bottle is.

Seconded that margaritas are not made with vodka!

Most hard liquor, including Smirnoff vodka, is 80 proof, or 40% alcohol.  Inexperienced drinkers often think some spirits, like gin or tequila, have magic powers beyond their alcohol content.

Margaritas are usually made with tequila rather than vodka, but what the h**l. Most wodkas run 75-80 proof, and Smirnoff is no exception, although they make one, I think it's called "Double...something" that is stronger, around 100 proof.

If youre makin Margarita's use Tequila. Vodka is not used in Margarita's. Other wise Smirnoff is standard proof (strength). Except for the flavored ones, they are half proof.

BUt seriously, do not use Vodka to make Margarita's. First off it won't be a Margarita, and secondly, it is going to taste funky if you plan on using the salt and lime.

no smirnoff's good! it's a really good brand & it's loovely in margaritas! it's not too strong, but it's not too weak either, it is more expensive than other brands but it's worth it haha.
