"Whatever the case, it became official Wednesday that Stewart, one of the most successful and popular drivers in NASCAR history, is leaving JGR after a 10-year run at the organization that produced 32 Cup victories and two championships."

  1. He is making the right move for his future.  I really think he will be a decent owner.  It will give him a team to operate long after he is done racing.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  2. only time will tell, but i hope so

  3. Sometimes you have to do whatsgood for the future....

he probably has something bigger planned for next year?

    look at jr for example

  4. Sorry but the "company" didnt do that - he did, as well as other drivers of course. Perhaps he feels he can take this company to championships. That under his leadership it could rival JGR.

  5. I think it is a good move. I really want to see him happy and he doesn't seem to be this year. I believe he will make an awesome owner!

However, I will miss that commercial where he tells Zippy to run for his life.

  6. I think he just killed his career..

If he proves me wrong, I'll spend all of next season kissing the @sses of the Smoke fans for having ever doubted him.

But that's a mighty big IF.

  7. a true fan stand behind their driver no matter what decision he or she makes....... i will support tony on this one.... and i am happy he made a good decision.!

  8. He's won 2 championships as a driver; time to move on to something new. He will be ok; he might not win any more championships but monitarily he will be in good shape.

  9. Well I am not much for drastic changes like this but life goes on and Tony is a smart man.  He isn't going to soak his own money into a venture sure to fail.  I am sure he sees promise and return on his investments.

Maybe he figures it's now or never and if he doesn't do it he will always wonder if he "should have when he could have".

I think he will be a great owner and we already know he is a great driver so I am going to say that with all of himself he is throwing into this....he will do just as well or better being an owner/driver.

  10. Nope Sorry I really thought he should have gone to the Hendrick's BOYZ.  I just the team it self is way to crappy no matter who owns it all or part of the org. And really wont make a diff who the drivers are or will be, Even if he is able to bring in much better sponsers they wont stay if they cant win.  But GOOD LUCK with that one.  If he just wanted a little attn Well I'd say he got that and then some We`ll see what happens to the Driver formally know as SMOKE!!!

  11. Looking at the team just by itself...I'm gonna lean to saying no at least for NOW, but Smoke is usually late to the party (as in the season) when it comes to winning races. But the team he is going to...it is a good thing he will have the champion's provisional for the first five races, because I don't see the 66 team getting back into the top-35 (or even  the 36th place, depending on if the 26 team has to shut down after the season to comply with the four-team limit for a NASCAR owner).

If the 26 team does shut down, and the #66 team is 36th, then Stewart could take the #70 ride...remember, he usually qualifies very well...and he should have a better handle on Hendrick power than is currently done at Haas-CNC, as he knows a racecar.

  12. yes, i believe that he is

because hes been there for 10 years

but he just aint gettin all that his skill deserves

so he wants to find a team where he will ( rick hendrick )

  13. He will probably be alright, if not he always has his MUDHOLE .

  14. I think its good for him. You could tell he is not happy right now.

  15. Not our call. Strictly Tony's.

  16. No, he will regret it.

  17. no it is a huge mistake they after next year will regret
