Is Snowbird worth going to this time of year?

More specifically sometime before the end of this month. I cannot wait until December. I just HAVE to ride somewhere on this continent and plane ticket prices are steering me towards Snowbird. All my riding has been in the Spring in Southern California (Mountain High & Bear). I was essentially born and raised into slush, several inch base, accidently riding over dirt & rocks, and some sort of granular and corn that lasts for a couple of AM hours... I was at Bear the very last week it was open with temps in the '50s. I had a fairly descent time, in spite of the slush factor.

I know Snowbird is world class and they seem to be getting new snow on and off but the temps seem to fluctuate pretty high. If someone can tell me that current late Spring conditions at Snowbird will blow all my current CA experiences away, I'm hopping on a plane this week! :)

I'm not kiddin

  1. get on a plane...expecting snow the next few days with highs only in the 40's

  2. dude, im on the east coast and still shredding mt snow while its 70 degrees on the mtn (this is the last weekend though ='( ) idk much about the mid or west coast but im sure there will be some spring contests at mountains cause here on the east coast theres a few in may like loon's hike and huck and windhams endless winter railjam. snowbird should be phenominal compared to the east though, so definitly go. and idk about how much ud want to spend but in the summer you can go to snowboard summer camps like camp of champions or high cascade are the two most famous and ive heard theyre amazing (i cant afford em tho). woodward in pennsylvania now has a snowboard session at their camp. i went last year it wasnt technically on snow but it was still really fun and i got in for free so it was definitly worth it.
