Is Sociology a good minor for a Psychology major who wants to be a therapist?

Yes, because Sociology is the study of how the environment one lives in has an impact on the individual self.  This would be especially helpful for you as a therapist to help someone deal with personal issues as substance abuse, gender identity issues, class/poverty/wealth issues, domestic violence/family violence issues, criminal mischief, etc.  These two fields of study do indeed compliment each other with both minor/major; depending on what your main interest as an individual is.  Good Luck!

  3. You could minor in Sociology, since a good part of counseling comes form knowing your patients background, based on where the live, where they are on the social ladder, and their ethnic background. You could take a few biology electives to get a well rounded education.
