Is Soriano magic?

Okay, so you know how the Cubbies were slumping for a couple of days before Soriano came back? Well, the first game back, (yesterday) the Cubs won 10-6. But that's not the great part. The players that were struggling (Lee, Ramirez, Fukudome) all were getting hits/HR/walks to help the team.

Is Sorano magic?

Is this the Cubbies year?

I do think that it's the Cubs' year but I do not believe that Soriano is magic. He puts his ego before what's best for the team and if the Cubs lose he may be the one responsible.

The Cubs won last night and Lee/Ramirez/Fukudome played well because they are a good team and they are good hitters. They did their best Andruw Jones imitation while sleepwalking through most of the road trip so they were bound to score some runs.

And now that they're coming back to the Friendly Confines I expect them to continue hitting and winning. Not because of Soriano but because they're a better home team than road team.

well soriano is the only game changer for the cubs on both sides of the field. on offense hes the albert pujols of their lineup (as in hes the one guy you don't want to beat you) and on defense he either keeps the runner on second from scoring on a single or he throws them out at the plate.

he gives the team a lot of positive attitudes and makes people feel happy in the clubhouse and the cubs are going to go to the world series and win it this year and the next year!!! Go Cubs Go!!!!!

when you lose a star the team doesn't think its as good , even if a roster like the cubs are and probably could have won 25 games while he was gone. when he came back it was a big morale boost.

Soriano might have magic "spirit fingers" that help him get hurt anytime he has to go at a ball 100%. it's either his spirit fingers or that disgrace of a jersey he puts on every day.  either way, he will get hurt once more and the cubs will fall flat on their face as always.  i love that the last 5 years the northsiders have been given all false hopes and they ride them all the way to the bank and then find out that their subprime rates just went through the roof.  heres to 100 years cubby fans!!!

He definitely is a welcome addition to the line up, especially at lead off. Though he is not your "a-typical" lead-off batter, he has good power numbers and once he does get on base he creates opportunities with his speed.

I am hoping (though not holding my breath) for a Tigers Cubs Series. I hope that at least one of them makes it deep into the playoffs this year.
