  1. ethruria was an old region of centre-italy. it was composed from the region that today are tuscany, umbria, lazio, but BE CAREFUL now ethruria do not exist anymore. it was an area, not a city. i'm italian

  2. Southern Etruria is the province of Grosseto, in the Region of Tuscany, they use it in their Tourist adverts. As Falso specchio rightly says, however, "Etruria" is a generic term for where the Etruscans used to live, which stretches way down to the gates of Rome (there was even   a settlement North of Naples), into the Region of Latium (Lazio) and parts into that of Umbria.

What you refer to is the "Sovrintendenza dell'Etruria meridionale", I used to work alongside. It's territory  also includes all of North Latium, right to the gates of Rome. Have a look at the map. It's  basically the province of Viterbo and bits and pieces of other provinces. The public, however, has no notion of this, basically internal, term and if you asked somebody they would say Tuscany.

  3. it's Tuscany. It's ancient inhabitants were the Etruscans (therefore Etruria) living in Etruscia, which under the roman empire became Tuscia and in more recent time Toscana (Tuscany).
