Is Spain's Olympic basketball team going to be a serious contender for the gold?

They have some amazing players on there, even some that aren't in the NBA yet! Are they the favorites for the gold?

I think they are a serious threat.  I currently live in Spain and although I am not a fan of Spain I do see them as the most serious foe for team USA.  Most have played together since they were in "high school" so they play harmoniously.  This was Spain´s formula for success in their Euro Cup victory this year. Therefore, although their players are not as talented those of Team USA Team Spain playes as a TEAM.

i think it would b a miracle if any1 besides USA wins the gold. although spain has a relatively good team, u cant win a gold when ur best players (besides pau gasol) r jose calderon and juan carlos navarro. on european standards, this team is superstar, but i cant c them matching vs dwight howard, d-wade, lebron, kobe, redd, melo, etc. i just dont c it happening

2 yrs from now he will be selected 1 overall in nba draft for sure

they are definitley a top contender for the gold this summer.. they have some really good players who have nba experience so they are familiar with the tendencies of team usa along with other players on other international teams such as yao, dirk, and ginobli.. the gasol brothers will be tough to deal with down low especially since there is more banging in international play .. they will be a force on the boards.. juan carlos navarro and jose calderon are quality guards as well.. they also have rudy fernandez of the blazers.. dont forget this team won gold at the 06 world championships..
