  2. It´s not hot but can be pleasantly warm. We had Christmas lunch on the beach last year in shorts and T shirts near Malaga. The weather was gorgeous for late December. The previous year was hazy sunshine but once again quite warm for the time of year. On the coast all the restaurants will be open and everyone will be out for lunch.

  3. Hot no, but southern Spain does have the best winter weather of all of Europe. I had family in from Philadelphia for Christmas a few years ago, and they were astonished that we could have lunch in short sleeves on our terrace for New Years Day... when they had left the US in the middle of a snow storm! Basically it depends on ones luck!

The spanish have a very particualar way of spending Christmas... The big thing is a family dinner on christmas eve, that may last until two in the morning. After the meal the younger generation may go out dancing, etc... but never before 1 or 2 in the morning.

On Christmas day it's hangover and leftover time. :-) (dec. 24th. is the only evening in the year that everything closes and/or shuts down early).

New Years Eve celebrations are held in most towns, some of the towns and cities (such as Marbella) have public celebrations with music, etc. in the towns main plaza or sports center or conference center (if the weather is not good). These often last into the wee hours of the morning.

There are also New Years dinners and celebrations in most of the hotels, but these can run from expensive to VERY expensive... Some chains have things like special 3 day offers including the New Years Eve dinner, worth looking into.

  4. Weather is cold

The scene... is more o less hot... it depends the ppl u find. Like everywhere i think

    Im Spanish

  5. Not really. I lived in Spain for 9 years and in December it even snowed sometimes too. The winters over there are not as cold, but they are still pretty cold.

  6. I don't know if you're asking about weather or the scene... I was there over Christmas a few years ago and it definitely was not hot (temperature wise) - we were in Barcelona and Madrid. It was not freezing though - we could wear jeans and t-shirts mainly and sometimes needed jackets.

The scene is always hot in Spain - although everything is closed on Christmas and it's very hard (at least in Madrid) to find somewhere to go for dinner for New Year's. Everyone seems to eat at home and then go out (if they go out). The restaurants all have very expensive prix fix menus. If you look around (and do it early enough), you can find one that will be a lot of fun though - and then you just have to find a great club to go to after!

  7. No its not.. Its cold and alot of the places have snow ( like the  Pyrenees mountain Chain).. Alot of people Ski here. Even southern Spain is pretty Cool.. So bring winter clothing if you are planning to come to Spain..

    Take Care..

  8. DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE...

  9. Hi, I'm from Spain.

Spain isn't hot at Christmas time, the weather is cold

and here often snow in christmas, specially in the north,

in the interior and in the mountains of the country.

In December and January there are open some ski

stations in the Pirinees and in some montains like

"Sierra Nevada" and the cantabric mountains.
