  1. Hello Sue is correct the Spanish are very friendly and good people try it for a few months and see how you get on?Madrid is a beautiful city and people from all over the world live and visit there you will enjoy it and when you have some time get out into the countryside fantastic and the people are just fab, paella great and the tapas bars are great good way to help you learn Spanish you will pick it up no problem take care and enjoy yourself in Espanna

  2. People in Spain are wonderful.  You will encounter racism whereve you encounter ingnorance, and you can help dispel that ignorance by educating the people you meet, even if that means just being yourself, to show them what YOU are like.

I encountered a large Indian and Pakistani population in Barcelona.

And, yes, Madrid is a beautiful city.  We found the people there to be wonderful!

I think you should try it.  But the working situation can be pretty difficult for any foreigner.  I understand the rules about getting a contract, and permanent employ can be very restrictive for foreigners, so it would be advisable to get legal status before you leave your counrty.

  3. YES IS A NICE PLACE TO LIVE IN IF YOU HAVE A good job or a resonable income  (more than 2000 euros a month).

But ...there is a little bit of a problem, the spaniads may think you are part of the gitano people "gypsy" which is a group highly biased among the spanish sociecity......   I think spain is a no go place for any south asian guy or girl.

look at the links i found on the net....

moreover, the spanish people don't know a single word of english, so may find yourself in trouble when it comes to communicate to spanish people whether it's urgent or in the middle of a trip.

It's easier to find someone in mexico who speaks english than in spain, so be careful.

it is today a taboo when some spaniards with gypsy background accepts their gypsy roots in public, some people pay much attention to this.

Changing the topic of this answer I'd like to warn you that spain is heading to a economic recession due to the burst in the local housing bubble THE SPANISH ECONOMY relies greatly on the housing sector, therefore the housing market cools down so the economy.

    That's happening right now...
