Question:

Is Spanish 111 going to be too difficult?

I go to Arizona State University and took the Spanish placement exam. I tested into Spanish 111 (Intensive Elementary Spanish: A review), which is basically 101 and 102 combined? Anyway, I took two years of Spanish in high school, which was almost 3 years ago. I'm not sure I should really be enrolled in an accelerated class. Is it going to be too arduous or a review that I'll soon pick up again?

I'll give best answer. Thanks!

  1. My freshman year, I was placed into a Spanish 104 class (ahead of 101, 102, and 103). I had taken three years of Spanish in high school. I was very nervous at first. However, my professor was very understanding and very helpful. If you put the effort in and ask for help when you need it, the professor will see that. It's like any other class... Effort is rewarded.

If you do find it too difficult, you can always speak to the professor and ask for his advice. If he recommends you switch to a lower level, then so be it. At least you tried!
