Yes it is. Isn't Dilmah Tea Sri Lankan? Well known in Australia - advertising and when the Cricketers play here (Dilmah sponsor them).

Not exactly. People know tea from India mainly. Especially Assam tea. Even green tea of China is also popular in Europe. At the same time Srilankan tea is also popular, but not like the above two.

I don't know why, may be the tea plantation from India (Assam/Darjeeling) is already well known.

Yes   tea from Sri Lanka is known all over the world, but by the name of Ceylon tea,   I happen to know that the people of Sri Lanka do not drink their own tea, it is all regulated by the Government and exported.   SriLankans drink Indian Tea - bit wobbly ha!!!

Well a brand by the name Dilmah is quiet popular out there, i had tried it once, a friend gifted me some,but i did not find much of a difference, to be honest Britishers are the pioneers in Tea producing, so they are the best tea makerss, and so is their tea very famous, In india and asia we grow tea coz british taught us how to do it., we are just the most famous drinkers for sure
