Yes, it has a little bit of stuff that is "contreversial" (Cursing, morbidity(just a lil')  but it is a very good story about friends. I watched it when I was about 11, and I loved it then, and still love it today, its one of my fave movies. Maybe it will bring you closer together.

Yes, it is an excellent movie. The first time I saw it was twenty years ago, and it still holds a special place in Patrick's movie favorites.

In terms of profanity:

I think the "f-word" is only used once, a couple of "s-words" and a "t-word". Pretty tame by today's standards.

I say watch it, if for no other reason than to hear the barf-o-rama story.  It's a classic though and has some great moments.

if you are refering to the movie of stefen kings novel..YES... it is a great story of friendship and loyalty. i read it years ago then read it to my son when he was about 11..we also watched the tv movie. its about friendship thru thick and thin and is a terrific read for all.
