Is Stockholm a safe city to visit?

Question

I'm male, 17 and interested in visiting Stockholm. I would be visiting alone and was just wondering how safe it is, and are there many "bad" areas I should avoid? I'm a bit worried because I got mugged a while back and, obviously, I don't want to go through that experience again. Am I likely to have any trouble in Stockholm, are there many "troublemakers" wondering about looking for targets? I don't go around looking for trouble and keep myself to myself.

Don't worry, All Northern-European cities are safe.

as any large cities i would avoid place like railway station or those place full of drunks who fight at friday night (plenty in every north europe nation) then a common sense...thats all. If you are black or not with "nordic features" maybe you would have to cope  some racists like in the Uk, where during the "latino day" they beat any person who speaks spanish or italian...so, if is your case pay, attention for that

it's generally quite safe and theres not really any places you should avoid just bring common sense you should be fine

One can't generalize when answering this kind of answers. Is it a safe city? Yes, it's a LOT safer than other big cities. The scandinavian countries are known as countries where it is very safe to live.

Nevertheless, there are always individuals that will show you that all this is not true, ofc a lot less than in other countries.
