Looking at the answer with the dictionary man I am gonna have to say it is but before I thought it wasn't because nothing they sell is quickly cooked in grease.

I will say that they have the best sandwiches I have ever tasted so far.

subway is fast food...

but not all fast food is bad for you. subway is very healthy if you eat moderated portions. and possibly substitute that soda for some water and the chips for a yogurt or an apple.

First of all, some definitions:

According to Webster's, fast-food "designates a type of restaurant that offers low-cost food, as hamburgers or pizza, that is cooked and then served or wrapped quickly".

If we follow these, subway is then a fast food restaurant in the sense that food there is made quickly. And although I believe that it has higher quality than fast food chains, it is still wrapped quickly and served for take-out/take-away (though not drive-thru, but still counts).

So there you go, it's fast food (i hope i justified my answer) :)

Fast food does not mean unhealthy but prepared in a very short period of time. Both of my daughter work at subway and the need to complete the process in less than 2 minutes, not counting toasting. So I would say yes it is.
