Is Sutton a safe neighbourhood?

Hi, I'm planning to move so SW London some time soon and was wondering whether someone could tell me if Sutton is a safe neighbourhood... Do you have positive or negative feedback? Is it safe to walk in the night? Is the area around the railway station ok? Any comment would be highly appreciated.

Also, is there any areas (Tooting, Wimbledon) that you would recommend to live? Why?

I used to live in Sutton, I met my husband there. I then moved to Somerset and now I live in France. Sutton Isn't so bad, go For it.

my daughter lived in sutton for 2 yrs with no problems. if you keep your wits about you and be sensible you should be ok - same as anywhere really

should be safe. unsafe neighbour hoods are the other parts of london. e.g. brixton, hackney.
