  1. probably.. in the olden days, people in the royal family could only marry other royal people, so the british royals married spanish royals, swedish royals, etc..

  2. I think that, due to the shortage of suitable royal princesses in Europe over the last few centuries, all European royalty are related by blood in some way.

  3. I don't think so.

  4. There are 2 main connections with the British Royal Family. 1st connection is through Queen Victoria's son, Prince Arthur of Connaught and 2nd connection   with Queen Victoria's great granddaughter Lady Louise Mountbatten.

The members of the Swedish Royal Family, alongside Norway, Holland, are all in the line of succession to the British Throne  (albeit on paper - there is no realistic chance of any of them succeeding). The Spanish Royal Family are also related to the British Royal Family but their right of succession is(currently) barred under the Act of Settlement.

  5. Yes. They are 4th related and 188th ordered.

  6. Yes - they're cousins.  Queen Elizabeth II is the great-great-great-great granddaughter of King George II, and King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden is his great-great-great-grandson.  That makes the two monarchs 4th cousins, once removed.

  7. relation of friendship

  8. The British royal family is not only distantly related to the Swedish royal family, but of all the other European royal houses. As a great-great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth II is related to the heads of most other reigning and non-reigning European royal houses. Through her great-grandmother Queen Alexandra, she is descended from the Danish royal house of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg... a line of the North German house of Oldenburg, one of the oldest in Europe. (Other members of the House of Glücksburg include Elizabeth's husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh as well as Margrethe II of Denmark, Harald V of Norway, Queen Sofia of Spain and former King Constantine II of Greece — each of whom is also descended from Queen Victoria.) Elizabeth is likewise descendant of Johan Willem Friso, Prince of Orange (1687 – 1711), who is a common ancestor to all reigning European royal houses.

He is related to Queen Elizabeth II as a great-great-grandchild of Queen Victoria. To see the connections click here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancestry_of...

The current British line of succession includes every royal member across Europe from all the royal houses. To see who is on the list click here

  9. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden is a great-great grandchild of Queen Victoria (as are the Queen and Prince Philip). He's currently 188th in line for the British throne.
