  1. It's not part of the E.U.

I lived there and it was really cool because there's a lot of money to be made.

  2. It's NOT part of the EU.  It's also not part of the EEA (European Economic Area for the former EFTA States).  However, Switzerland has bilateral treatises regarding the free movement of people, money, and goods.

  3. no, Switzerland is not in the EU

  4. no. Switzerland still has the Frank so it is not part of the EU.  And they are not thinking of of it for a while.

I think it would be the country i want to live in.  I mean wouldn't you want a train system that actually works better than the US?  The air there is fresher too so I would say it would be awesome to live in Switzerland.

  5. NO. Switzerland is not part of the European Union.

    Brother: 1 - I rock: 0

  6. Switzerland is not in the EU.

It has some bilateral agreements with the EU which make it easier for EU citizens to live and work in Switzerland (since 2002). Also plenty of businesses in Switzerland accept the Euro, but they don't have to.

Switzerland voted against applying to join the EU (in 1994 I think) mostly because the people didn't want to have laws/standards that they couldn't directly vote on. (Swiss people can vote on any laws, if enough of them want to.) They only joined the United Nations in 2002 or so.

  7. yes it is

At first the application to EU for switzerland was rejected but after negoiating treaties, Switzerland became a part of EU in 1994

now you can prove him wrong! :D

    yes! switzerland is awesome!

  8. switzerland is both in europe and not

switzerland  is part of europe but isnt joined with the currency of the euro

  9. Switzerland is NOT a member of the EU, it has close ties through various treaties but is not a member.  You can't come into Switzerland from the EU without a passport, it's not part of the monetary union (so you can't use Euros) etc.

And yes, Switzerland is awesome, I spent 2 months in Lugano in 2003, one my fondest experiences.

  10. Switzerland does not need, is better of without joining the EU or the UN to s***w things up, so they are not a member of either organization.

Switzerland is "heaven on earth" so yeah it would be cool to live there; in fact it is cool just by being there.

  11. Switzerland has always been staunchly independent and neutral.  That attitude has been extended to the EU and use of the Euro as well.

No.  Switzerland is NOT part of the EU, and they still use the Swiss Franc for their money (now worth TWICE what it was when I lived in Europe!)

Yeah, it WOULD be cool to live there.  Why don't you look into exchange programs...there are tons, both during High School and College.  Or you can just go to school there, altogether.
