  1. It is rated PG-13 so they will be allowed in the theater, but in my opinion, no,

this is not a good movie for kids in general, even though it is based on a comic book character.

It is not the cartoony sort of light-heartedness of Batman that you have seen in the past - is very serious, violent and adult oriented with several ethical dilemmas that kids will not get.

I am not saying it is not a good movie, because it is; just not for kids like it had been in the past.  It is Batman for grown ups.

I took my son, who is just turned 15 a few weeks ago and he not only hated it because it was not what he expected, I kept asking for an explanation of why the charactors made the decisions that they did.

    ***Spoiler***

The Joker charactor thrives on chaos has allegiance to no one, even his own crew and kills people violently and without thinking.  He is chaos incarnate.

The Harvey Dent/2 Face Charactor is not a cartoon version like Tommy Lee Jones 2-Face was, in this version, half of the charactors body is essentially burned off and graphically shown.  Had my son seen this at younger age, I know he would have had nightmares over it.

If you want the kids to see it, that is your choice.  However, I would have never dropped

my 10 or 11 year old son off a movie theater unattended, even though at that age I sat at the front and he and his friends sat at the back, not only because there are too many pervs in the world, but because they still need guidance at that age.

A better PG-13 movie for them to see with as much, if not more action, would be "The Forbidden Kingdom" with Jet Li and Jackie Chan.  My son love that movie for action and the hero in the movie is a teen boy.

  2. Unless they're extremely mature for their age, no.

  3. Yes My Eleven Year Old Came With Me He Didnt Get Scaried Atall But He Keeps Buggin Me So I Might LEt Him Go Alone Anyways It Wasnt Too Scary Just Some Scenes MAke You Jump But There Is One Scene That Could Make The Kid Grossed Out Two-Face My Eleven Year Old Was Shakeing For The First 5 Minutes With Him But After That He Was Fine

  4. its is a little creepy heth leedger did such an amazing job it kinda shakes u and i am thinking he went over the edge in this movie it is dark and twisted so no

  5. No.  It is rated PG-13 but it's more mental madness than scary.

  6. I don't think so coz....at times when they come so close to you and scream small kids might get scared. But  for children 2-11 there's nothing to worry....if they like batman they'll enjoy this movie...i guarantee!!!1

  7. It's PG-13 first of all.

There is no swearing or nudity.

But there is a LOT of violence, obviously.  Joker is psychotic.  The killing he does isn't really gruesome...but Two-Face at the end is a bit...disfigured in a disgusting way.

If you were asking about Hellboy II, I'd say no, there were parts I had to turn away from and I'm 31.  The Dark Knight is...borderline for 13, I'm not so sure about a 10 year old and an 11 year old, it may be a little over their heads, especially alone.

  8. they'll be fine.

As long as they're not COMPLETE wussies that get frightened by like... action.

  9. Don't even go and see it's too long and its bad

  10. I would say no. It is PG-13, and there are some intense scenes with the Joker. Maybe if the parent went with them just so that they could explain the movie to them after, I got scared off the Joker and I'm grown. hehe :)

  11. umm i think they should be fine it's a little iffy but i think its fine

  12. I don't think so.

It's a pretty dark and intense movie.  The stuff that nightmares are made of.

  13. not at all.

  14. YES !!

i watch it the other day at the cinema !!

    and im around that age

    its perfectly fine !!

    :]

  15. i think the movies fine. except how the joker executes his victims. it does get a little brutal

  16. yeah the movie is fine for them as long as they don't scare easily.

  17. I think it all depends on the maturity level of these kids if they can watch movies like Lord Of The Rings  and not pee their pants, they will be able to watch the Dark Knight.

  18. I am 24 years old and there were a few violent bits where I couldn't look at the screen - so for 10 & 11 year olds I would say NO!
