When you share space with a partner, tension could easily build up in one of three areas: s*x, finance or communications. America shares the world stage with China today. China seems to be doing well financially, it is accused of buggering others up with its plans and actions; communication with it doesn't seem as effective as it needs to be. The answer to your question would depend on who gets in as America's next president. If the person more likely to have effective communication with China and disaffected groups is not chosen, America may well be heading for a decline. What say ye?

China as a problem looming.  Their population control has been very successful and they will have a huge percentage of their population being over sixty.  

I don't think the end is near, only the end of the Bush presidency which has gone on eight years too long.
