Is Tabloid and 11x17 exactly, EXACTLY the same size?

Someone told me that Tabloid was not exactly 11x17. Is that BS or is it true?

Tabloid essentially just means "half of a broadsheet," where a broadsheet is 22x17 (typical newspaper size). So when you fold it in half into Tabloid, you may get a measurement that is exactly 11x17, or you may get something slightly smaller due to the fold. So no, not EXACTLY exactly :)
