  1. It is fast food and if you go to an authentic mexican restaurant or better yet a mexican's house, you will know that Taco Bell is junk food and nowhere near "real food".  We don't make our tacos with those shells and what the heck is a mexican pizza?  Nope, never made that at home.

  2. definetly fake. any fast food has to be fake or it wouldn't be fast food.

  3. Nothing authentic about it. It's just mountains of calories and fat loosely disguised as food.

  4. uhh fake

  5. It's not really fake, so much as horrible.

  6. it is not authentic

  7. its americanized mexican food. if you live in a bigger city go to like the hispanic district of your city and go to one of their local mexican restaurants and try some of their food. or go to mexico.

america has adapted alot of foods to suit different tastes.

  8. It is not authentic, actually the borrito isn't authentic from mexico. So any place that serves that isn't from Mexico.

  9. Come on it's totally fake.. however, it is real authentic fast food :)

  10. FAKE, or Americanized Mexican food

  11. Fake

  12. it is fake ..........i hope ppl dont really think thats real.....

  13. Totally fake!  It tastes nothing like good authentic Mexican food, although they do use some of the same ingredients.

  14. One thing for sure is Taco Bell food is an authentic laxative!

  15. FAKE!!!

actually the mexican food is real good, if you have a stomach for

    it

  16. first its fast food, n you dont see no mexican grandmas in the back cooking so it aint authentic. its texmex

  17. TACO BELL IS SO GROSS!                                                         IF YOU EVER HAD REAL MEXICAN FOOD....YOU WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO A TACO BELL AGAIN

  18. It is just an imatation

  19. If you ever had real mexican food, you wouldn't need to ask this question.

  20. while taco bell is delicious, it is not at all mexican food. travel to southern mexico sometime (such as oaxaca) and eat there. you'll be suprised how wonderful it is.

  21. Extremely fake...Ground beef is rare, cheese and sour cream on Mexican food are almost unheard of (and never in the quantities TB uses)...Mexican pizza?  Crunchy tacos?  Look to So.Cal. joints like *Bertos (Alibertos, Robertos, BertoBertos) or similar chains for more authenticity.

Also, don't forget that Mexico's cuisine is EXTREMELY varied--Baja food is very different than food from Michoacan (sp?) or Veracruz...

  22. McDonalds has more authentic Mexican food than Taco Bell.

  23. fake, but what I call "good grease";

  24. its meat and cheese.  I dont' think they're are special cows that are really mexican.

  25. its so fake its not funny

  26. Actually, rather than just "fake," it is a "fast food" copy of a very limited regional style of Mexican food. The hard shell toasted taco, like the "chili con carne" and northern style burrito, is native to a very tiny part of Mexico up near the Texas border. This has been "adopted" in Texas and other border states as "Mexican" food, or as some call it "Tex-Mex."

If you travel around Mexico you will find many different styles of tacos and other foods. In many cases, that which you call a "taco" in the US wouldn't even be recognizable to the majority of Mexicans, they would call it a "tostada." Almost all regional tacos outside of the very northern frontier areas would come in soft tortillas (exception -tacos dorados - rolled up and deep fried)

Regarding the "burrito", I'm afraid that many give the gringos too much credit. While Americans have certainly created some amazing variations on the humble burrito, it originated in and arround Ciudad Juarez in the north of Chihuahua. It is quite common today in the central part of Mexico but often with quite different ingredients than in the US.

There is in my opinion way too much argument about just what is "authentic" Mexican food and what isn't. The "American" style called "Tex-Mex" or "Tejano" is quite different than many other styles in Mexico, but quite delicious, nevertheless.

When it comes to "Taco Bell," well as already stated it is "fast food" and as such it compares to "authentic" Mexican, about as well as a dry, flattened, cheap McDonald's cheeseburger compares to a masterpiece burger from Knowlwood, Hamburger Factory, Keg and Cleaver, Sirloiner, Ruben's etc.

  27. all " mexican food" in the usa is fake , go to mexico and it is completely different and delicious . they call it tex mex here in texas . if i am wrong i would like to know where it is truly authentic

  28. Faker than powdered cheese my friend.

  29. Like most food in America it is "Americanized"  Mexican food and in this case a fast food version.  No fast food could be the real version of anything.

  30. oh its real real tex mex which is better than any mexican can make mexican food turn ur eyes to taco bell and behold tex mex was born
