Is Taco Bell the worst restaurant of all time?!

I am from england and am staying in orlando florida at the moment and tried one the other day and to be honest, I dont think I have ever tried anything so disgusting!!!

refried beans! was horrible!!

Taco Bell is 1st Mexican restaurant that came in my area (early 1980) before the sit down restaurants run by Mexicans so we thought that was how the food was suppose to be and taste. The only other way then was to make tacos out of a box but this was easier like McDonald's fast food and we thought that was cool so we got used to it.

I like their quesadillas-steak and cheese & chicken and cheese. Tacos are OK. Refried been are cooked beans and refried (cooked a 2nd time-suppose to be with lard). It's kind of gross (not sure how Taco Bell does it) but I order them every once in a while in a few things there. I usually mix it with their rice. There are a few Mexican Restaurants in my area now run by Mexicans but most you have to point at the menu to order and hope they understand what you want. My hubby and I went the other day and he ordered a regular beer and the guy brought him 2 beers (a lite first and hubby said no and then he brought a lager) and neither were the right kind so my nice hubby drank the second one anyway. They need a few people there that speak English lol.

Hope you enjoy your time here. My hubby used to live in Florida years ago and he said Taco Viva was good if they still have them there.

Taco Bell is not Authentic  Mexican food it's really a  fast food  rendition  of  Mexican food that's been  lowered to the American peoples' standards.The original Mexican taco does not consist of a Crunchy shell but a soft corn tortilla.

Just lay off the beans they do contain fiber and make you go to the loo quickly it also depends on your stomach as well.

I actually love Taco Bell and can eat it all day probably ... I do admit though the beans are kind of funky try something without beans  maybe . I mean Taco Bell is pretty cheap so its not gonna be all that great compared to what you probably have in England.

Not really. there are better restaurants (depending on one's own taste). Like Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, Chilis, Wendys, etc.

Well you're from England so you don't have alot of exposure to Mexican type food.  If we went over to England we would probably hate your steak and kidney pie.

Hi Andy...

I am not doubting your opinion one bit... but Taco Bell is one of the most popular fast food places here in the US in every state.  I guess you have to be as used to eating at fast food places every day as the typical American, not to notice that the food is not particularly good.   It is just fast and hot and you don't have to get out of your car.

If you want to eat good food here... and there are great places in Orlando,   get one of the city guides... which most likely do not include ANY fast food restaurants to speak of.

I live in Texas and we are known for Mexican food and would not think of Taco Bell as a substitute for a delicious Mexican meal.

Just stay away from those drive-in windows and you will have a more pleasant vacation experience.   :))

PS:  Also the drinks are not that good.

This is an opinion question.  Some people (like me) will say it is the best ever.  Other people (like you) may have a bad experiance and talk bad about it from then on.  You are going to find people in favor and in disgust of everything.  If it was really that bad they wouldnt have so many locations.

Taco Bell is my personal favorite fast food place. However, some of the chains are better than others. I hope that you enjoy your stay!
