Ok I think this should get a good debate going.. Interestin question.

I was just sittin listenin to me music and started to think, is talent god-given or do we develop it? or if you want Inherit it?

For the people know of Nas the artist (rapper) wrote an album at the age of 17 years old, and its arguably the best hip-hop album ever.

Or other examples of artists born with talent, dont know that many but ill name an obvious one.. Leonardo Da Vinci, painted the Mona Lisa in the 16th Century and so on..

Anyway, what do you think?

  1. Not much to debate, its both.  Different artists reach their peak at different ages.  Some get worse some get better.  Mozart composed pieces of music at very young ages but thats not to say that he didnt get better with age.

  2. I think God gives us the bricks we get when we're born, from the pile of bricks in all that DNA stuff from our parents, but it's up to us, our education, our peers and our personality what we choose to do with them. We might use the bricks for what they're best suited, or we may just mix and mould them so that they do something else, which might work to a greater or lesser extent.

I suppose the genius' amongst us can do both, as and when it suits. That's why we need more genius's(?)

  3. Both. If you are talented but you don't develop it, you may never become aware of that talent.

On the other hand, I think it's useless to insist on doing some things if you are not talented for them.

  4. Both! :)

  5. bit of both. God given but it always needs to be practised.
