Is Tamari and Tamarind the same thing?

I'm gonna be making pad thai. I've seen both mentioned in different recipes and I just wanna know what the difference is? Thanx!

  1. Tamari is a soy sauce type product where as a Tamarind is a Crazy dried fruit looking thing that tastes like a date mixed with dried apricots. So no not the same.
