  1. ANYTHING is harmful when it is misused.

Atomic power: Good source of energy, bad when used in bombs.

    Cars: Good transportation, often deadly

Computers: Good for research, communications, schoolwork, etc., bad when used by pedophiles.  Can also be addictive

Electricity: Where would we be without it in today's world? But deadly if mis-handled.

Hope this helps get you started.  I'm sure you can think of many, many others.

  2. Our planet is very finely balanced to support life as we know it.  Any change can alter this balance, making it unable to support the life we know.

There are many ways we can alter the planet.  We can introduce  particles and gases in our atmosphere (air pollutants).  Some technical advancements that have contributed to air pollution, is the use of gas burning cars (the internal combustion engine).  Another would be our many smoke stack factories, that produce the many products we use.  Our coal, oil and wood burning electricity plants also contribute to the problem.

We can also disrupt the balance of our planet by introducing impurities into our rivers, streams and ocean.  Our farming practice of using fertilizers, insecticides and  herbicides contribute to the problem, because these chemicals find there way into our water supply.  Nuclear power plants can contribute to this problem as well, if and when their nuclear waste find their way into our water supply.  In the past, some forms of mining, the use of mercury for extracting gold, have contributed to poisoning our water supply.

The physical alteration of our land, can change whole ecosystems.  The construction of roads, highways, freeways, fences, and borders, make it difficult, if not impossible for  migrating creatures.  The construction of homes claim lands that were once part of different  thriving life.  Large scale mining operations, can change ecosystems.

Most every new technology is examined closely for military applications.  If it can be used to kill, you can bet it will be adapted, to serve that purpose.  Even, natural occurring infectious diseases, like the bubonic plague, have been recruited for this purpose.

Traditional foods have been replaced by tasty convenient treats, loaded with substances that our body has no way of coping with.  One big culprit, in the U.S., is the use of refined sugar: something our bodies were never designed to consume.  Other treats, include substances, like food preservatives, that can kill beneficial organisms, that thrive in your body.  Most fresh food have trace amounts of pesticides, that can build up in fat tissue, over time.

So yes, technology is harmful, if you value life, as it is today.   Someone may argue that technology, in and of itself, is not harmful, but to me, any type of change alters the planet.  Even the good technologies seem to create more problems than they solve.   Take for instance, the computer, Who could argue that this is not a wonderful device, yet what will it actually do for us, except send us faster to our destination: which in this case may be out of the picture of life.

  3. no. some technology can be harmful, but only if used in the wrong way. like television, it can be bad if harmful things are displayed on it. but it is also a very important invention in out society. it keeps us up to date with news, weather, and entertainment. even nuclear bombs have a good purpose. they may be destructive but they help us avoid war by scaring the apposition into attacking us. this happened in the cold war. the US and the soviet union had enough nuclear bombs to destroy the world 9 times over. but both countries knew that attacking the other side would mean complete annilation of their own countries. so technology is for the most part good.

  4. Nuclear weapon is harmful to humans' health and the environment.

  5. It's harmful only when it's used excessively. Let's take the computer with Internet access as an example. We are so tied to it, we couldn't possibly do a lot of things without it. We can talk to other people, listen to music, watch movies, read the day's on-line papers, order everything in the world, and many more. It helps, but it's also harmful in a way. We lose contact with nature, and some are so tied to it, they don't even leave the house, having everything they need on the web pages. That's dramatic.
