Sachin Tendulkar won’t ever match Sir Donald Bradman’s Test average, but as his unbeaten 200 in India’s most recent ODI against South Africa proved, few records seem beyond him. Is Tendulkar the best batsman cricket has ever seen?

  1. There are some who are prepared to make the call.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain has told Sky Sports News that: "In my opinion Tendulkar has got to be one of the greatest of all time, if not the greatest."

No doubt Tendulkar is the best of his generation – and that’s a generation that includes the likes of Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting – and even one of the best of all time. But better than Bradman? It’s always difficult to compare different generations of sporting greats. Remember, Bradman played his cricket long before ODIs came on the scene, and his Test average of 99.94 is unlikely ever to be matched. The Bradman of this generation maybe, but not better.
