Consider this: the guy has had one 2000 yard rushing season, one Super Bowl MVP, and TWO Super Bowl titles. Why isn't this guy in the HOF yet?

  1. h**l to the yes.

sc_baller - Darrell Green is a first ballot.

  2. If he gets in then Curt Warner should get some consideration also.

  3. When he played, and led the Broncos to the Superbowl I would have said yes. Problem is that since him Denver has been shown to be a system where they turn ANY back in to a 1,000 yard back. Look at the ones they've traded away and what has happened since then. The backs weren't as good when they left Denver. So was it how good Davis was, or how good the line and the system was. Clearly he was good(maybe great), BUT was he HOF worthy? When put in context of the team I'm not as sure. Add his short career. Then add that the two Superbowls were won while Denver was violating the Salary Cap. I'm not saying that takes from HIM, but it devalues the TEAM that won the Superbowls. I mean you are saying those titles are why he should be there, but would Denver have won them both if they had been following the rules. I know they weren't the only one breaking the Salary Cap, but they were still doing it.

For the record I'm just trying to answer why he ISN'T in the Hall yet. I'm not going to argue if he should be or not. I'll say I'm not as sure as some, he deserves consideration true.

  4. Most of the consideration was given to the offensive line.  Just like Emmitt Smith...  Both of them should be in Hall.

  5. let's compare him to Gale Sayer HOF class of 1977:

Sayers: 7 seasons, 4956 yards rushing, 39 rushing tds, 112 reps for 1307 yards and 9tds,  0 championships

Davis:   7 seasons, 7607 yards rushing,  60 rushing tds, 169 reps for 1280 yards and 5tds,  2 championships

yes TD is worthy of the Hall.

  6. Had injuries not cut his career short I'm sure he would have made it.

  7. Good Question, although he had a short career, he did put up some great numbers.  Gayle Sayers had a very short productive career and he's in the HOF, so anything is possible. I think he should get in for sure.

  8. Yes, Terrell Davis should be in.  He was dominant for only a short period but considering Gale Sayers is in and Davis outgained him in his career by over 2600 yards and scored 12 more TDs, it's a no brainer.

  9. he will be someday...he had a short but great career due to injuries.  He was amazing, sad it ended so fast

  10. yea

  11. he will get in someday, but since he had knee problems after his big rushing year its probably going take a while.

  12. Not many players have put up numbers like Terrell Davis did in his first four years. He was the lowest drafted player to rush for over a thousand yards in a rookie year. He has a NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP, 2000 yard season, record for most consecutive 100 yard games in the playoffs, most yards rushed in playoffs, record for TDs in a Super Bowl game, and something like 60 TDs in just four years. He did what takes most players a 15 year career to do in only 4 years.

  13. oh yes, I believe if you back up your talk your a great player, and he did that therefore he deserves to have a spot in the Hall of Fame.

  14. Alot of players dont get rushed into the hall of fame. Look at Art monk and Darrell Green, they waited forever. I think Davis will be a down the line hall of famers mainly because of his consistent injuries after Elway left. But he will be a no doubt hall of famer
