Question:

Is The g*y Heresy In The Anglican Church About To Destroy Christ's Church?

The strong feelings on both sides with regard to the issue of g*y clergy (which can be clearly seen in the following video):

shows that the conservative and liberal wings of the Anglican church are wide apart. Can they be brought together again or is there likely to be a split which could have implications for the future of Christianity?

  1. I feel sorry for the Archbishop of Canterbury, he seems a decent sort (for a religo), but really he can't go either way on the issue can he?

  2. I think Christianity has already shot itself in the foot by displaying wholly 'un-Christan' attitudes towards it's fellow man.

  3. Gee I admire this guy!

I've always wanted to be able to do this. Go to church on Sunday and when the preacher starts preaching his stone age mumbo jumbo I could start spouting the truth and wisdom of science.

If only I had the nerve!

  5. No! It's the bigotry, hypocrisy, and rampant sexism that will do it.

  6. There shouldn't be a 'g*y' side to the church. It's not that long ago since homosexuals  were jailed for anything they did in public but thanks to the BBC and  homosexual MPs it has almost become the norm in our country. Small children are being indoctrinated to accept this abnormality as being normal - it's not - if it was then it would also be prevalent in the animal kingdom. We have too many people who jump on the bandwagon of largesse to get away with depravity. It's a very sad sickness not a way of life. It will probably bring the church down when coupled with the ordination of women bishops. The church of England has very shaky foundations - being based on the divorce of Henry V111 and Katherine of Aragon anyway and these two things could end up being the death knell - besides which, how many people go to church now , believe or even care?

  7. Well Christianity is a faith. One, an individual is drawn too. The 'establishment' will not save the future of such a faith. Only those who believe will do that.

Hogdigerdy summed up what I couldn't articulate!

  8. it ain't gods church its mans

the church is about money, power and pride all deadly sins i believe

god said where one or to gather together in my name i shall be there, you don't need a church with all its trappings

just faith and some like minded people

  9. Christianity preaches love they fellow man.

if they cannot love their fellow man, even if that man proves to be g*y, seems very 'Un-Chrisitan' like.

my verdict is this:  i have no problem with an openly g*y priest.  if the church (pick one) wants to survive the 21st century, they would be wise to do so.
