Is The Hobbit a good book?

It sounded a little boring. Is it good?

I liked it the best.  The Trilogy gets a little heavy.

you have to be able to delve into another world not of your own.but yes this is a good read

I personally enjoyed it a lot, but that is probably because I have always been a huge fan of Tolkein's work. The writing is more of an older-styled sort of thing, but if you can really get into the story, it is a classic that I don't think you could ever over-look.

I really enjoyed it, and it wasnt really my favorite style of writing.. But it was still a reallly good book.

The Hobbit is absolutly fantastic, it was my favourite book for about 4 years and I've read it so many times that I've lost count ^o^

If you've read or watched Lord of the Rings, then it's also good to read because it's all about Bilbo's adventure before Frodo and how he met Gandolf and Gollum and Smaug the dragon! :) It's quite funny at some points, and even though it may sound boring it's a really good book once you get into it.

Its great! it helps us get some information on Bilbo's personality, what makes him tick; and we also learn more about his friendship with Gandolf. It tells us too, more about Gollum. I loved it!
