Question:

Is The Orton Injury An Elaborate Work?

Okay, my first thought process upon reading the WWE exclusive news about Randy Orton being re-injured in a motorcycle accident was, "Haven't they worked 'motorcycle accident' injury angles in the past?" Most notably was back in Smokey Mountan Wrestling when a young Chris Jericho injured his arm after botching a moonsault, a very green Jim Ross on commentary noted that Chris had hurt his arm in a "motorcycle accident" to cover and keep kayfabe.

Prior to thie alleged accident, Orton hinted in multiple interviews that he just might make an appearance at Summerslam. These sort of mind games in wrestling are common, but considering WWE's admitted swervy directioning right now, could it be possible that this is a massive cover up to surprise fans?

I'd also like to cite the fact that only the WWE has had any news on this allegid injury. Every online dirt sheet resource only notes WWE.com as a reference. I've seen no local newspaper articles to back this claim, and trust me, if a WWE superstar were injured in a crash in your town, it would make the news. Maybe not front page stuff, but it would be in a paper.

I'd also like to note that the only thing reportedly injured in this crash was Randy Orton's collarbone. How likely is it that someone would walk away from a motorcycle crash with only that? There's no mention of him even having any sort of severe road rash, just a broken collarbone.

So what are your thoughts? Randy Orton's injury; conspiracy or real?

  1. FAKE.

How could one return and injured at the same time???

  2. I think your right because when other superstars get injured in car accidents and stuff the don't post it on WWE.com so its either a storyline, he re-injured himself, or he isn't ready to return. P.S.  Can ANYONE tell me what kayfade means.

  3. I was also thinking that if he flew or rolled 300 feet, how is only his collarbone re-broken?

I would think he would have several more injuries and have to be in the hospital. Also, why is it the same clavicle that is broken?

I would like to think this is a work, but I guess nobody will be certain.

    Good point. Starred.

  4. ive been sayin its a work so noone will think he will be at summerslam

conspiracy, but if its not i hope he gets better

  5. Nah its all over the news

i hope it turn out a storyline cos i wanted him to rko punk at summerslam ... and win the title at unforgiven

  6. Randy Orton's injury is a work, and only a dumb person would think otherwise.

Sorry if I sound mean, but that's the truth. I remember when Cena was injured, and the fans were told that he was out for what, 8 months was it? And then he returned in 4 months to spoil the Royal Rumble for everyone.

I think the reason the WWE are coming up with this is to stop people from speculating about Orton perhaps appearing at SummerSlam. He did an interview in the UK with Sky Sports hinting that he would pop up at SummerSlam, and that's what he most likely will do. I won't be smarky and say he hasn't had an accident, but think about it, if you fall what...300 feet as they claimed, or was it 30, you don't JUST break your collar bone. You break an arm, or a leg, not just coincidently the collar bone.

I think it's just a work, and that's my take on it.

  7. The first I heard of that news it was posted on WWE.com. Even on their official website, the WWE can say a lot of things that aren't really true; I mean they actually moved The Undertaker's page to the Alumni section FFS. It might be the company's, quote unquote, "offical" page, but it tends to be quite unreliable especially since a lot of the interviews on the site are obviously kayfabe.

So yes, I agree. It could just be a work. :)

  8. Yeah its probably a work. didnit think of that til ya mentioned it. but it actually makes sene. randy returns at summerslam & rko's cm punk.   orton vs. punk.

phillies: kayfabe means fake / not real / its a work.

  9. i hope its fake heres what i read about it 2day

  10. It would be in line with what the WWE has been going for recently.  It could be a double swerve, to make us think he isn't showing up at Summerslam so that the smarks say that he is, only for him not to show up and then magically appear at Raw.

All I know is the WWE has me wondering what they're going to do next, which is something I haven't been able to say in a long time.

  11. I knew it was a work since they first posted it. wwe's website is full of c**p so I aint even surprised if it was an angle. I mean come on people he was riding his motorcycle with his helmet? Who in the right mind would ride a motorcycle without a helmet? stupid wwe.

  12. I did find the motorcycle incident to be somewhat suspicious since Orton said he could've died ONLY in a WWE interview but hasn't had any other interview with any other website or paper to say anything else. Usually, if you're involved in a motorcycle accident, you would have cuts and bruises to several parts of your body - no mention of that! Just a broken collarbone! I find it all too weird and hopefully there'll be some plot holes WWE doesn't cover well and we will find out if this is real or fake. Also, I found out (on his website) that motorcycle WASN'T his. It was a rental! I'm convinced that it's fake

  13. Sigh...... no....... go to randy-orton.com and it says his full injuries =(

and the worst part is it was a rental.=S
