  1. no single word on its own has any meaning, it must be seen in it's proper context.


  2. i don't think the word in itself is manipulative, it just expresses a desire... though if you use it to manipulate then it will seem it is manipulative. but whatever the case is, how you use it is what matters :D

  3. No.  "Want" expresses personal desire.

  4. The word you put before it is manipulative "I" or "You" or "We" You manipulate yourself by saying internally I want this or i want that or i dont want this or that. Self manipulation leads to outward manipulation which is you want or they want or we want you to do this or that.

  5. Words themselves have no nature or direct meaning. They are just sounds we produce to communicate. If you mean the way it is used by the majority of the population then you could say that. Certainly when it's put into a question such as "What do you really want?", or perhaps "Do you want to?". In that context it does have a primarily manipulative function. In a statement it is usually said like "I want some pie." An expression of a desire.. Since it's usually uttered in a question , you can loosely say that. Although technically it is in correct as stated above.
