  1. Yes, minor updates for the Touch are free.


  2. Yes, the update is free, but i recommend that you do the update during the morning or afternoon, or anytime you have a chunk of free time, as the update requires you to back up your ipod, which i am doing now, and it has been 2 hours already, but ONLY HALFWAY DONE! Good luck!
