  1. If you're not vegetarian, try eating nice fresh calf's liver (not simply beef liver).  It's loaded with hemoglobin, which is the molecule that transports oxygen.  You should notice the difference right away.

  2. take a few deep breaths first and then make your final breath a slightly shallower one.

    Also - stop smoking!

  3. At my swimming club i have to do an ammount of lengths underwater or without breathing.

Try seeing how far you can swim without coming up for air, but dont try to much to fast otherwise you might get really light headed.

You will be able to stay under water for longer the more regually you pactise, i can now swim nearly two lengths under water, so it really works!

    :D good luck! x

  4. I usually start out with some simple breathing exercises. Breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth. Do this lightly for about thirty seconds, then breathe a little heavier for another thirty seconds.i usually take a massive gulp of air and hold it for as long as possible. You should time it to see how long you can hold, and from there you can get a reference of to how much you grow.

Repeat these steps 3-4 times per swim.

Keep practicing and before you know it, you will be able to hold your breath for minutes at a time.

i wouldent recommend doing this alot as it can damage your lungs but give it a shot,it works for me :) peace out!

  5. HA HA!!! I CAN HOLD MINE FOR 40 SECONDS! maybe even a minute if i tried?

well anyway, use some breathing exercises. oh and there is no program for how long u an hold Ur breath.

  6. when i start out swimming i always do an under water swim the length of the pool so i do breathing exercizes like breathing in through my nose and let all the air out slowly through my mouth like 6 times this really expands your lungs and if u keep practicing this each time you can hold ur breath much longer

  7. Make sure while you are swimming take deep breaths. Also make sure when swimming, you are blowing bubbles (out of your nose.)

This will help your muscles and your breathing increase.

Practice everyday-Or- 3 days a week- with breathing exercises and soon enough, you can hold your breath for quite a while.

  8. wow thats really bad no offence. but anyways you should first practise on land, take very deep breathes for about 30 seconds then fill your lungs up as full as you can and do not move sit or lay perfectly still, then hold your breath as long as you can, also you can practise by getting your body used to running on less oxygen by talking very small slow breaths, they should be small and slow enough that after about 20 seconds you feel like your not quite getting enough air, if you have good willpower keep your breathing like that for as long as you can (don't pass out or anything) and then try and increase the times of both those things by a second or two each time you do it. i went from being able to hold my breath about 1:15 to 2:15 in about a week of practising.

also if you don't know how to breathe with your abdomen to get a nice deep breath you should learn how, ask a singer and they will be able to teach you
