  1. no theres nothing you can do about that. thats the reason why i got rid of mine. my best guess would to spray frebreez in the room and clean his cage a lot

  2. clean the cage weekly!

  3. There's spray at the petstore you can spray the bottom of the cage with.  It is non-toxic and not harmful to hamsters.

  4. You can clean his cage more often if you'd like, and you can use wipes, or baby wipes (unscented) to clean your hamie. Please do not use shampoo and water, don't give it a bath. It can take of natural oils and can damage it's coat. Other ways are to give your hamster a dust bath......you know, chinchilla dust. If you got something toxic, or "bad" in your hamie's coat, THEN you should give your hamie a bath. You have to dry it good and fast too. Give your hamie lots of TLC!

  5. the treats i give my hamster are odor control things and they make her cage some better and stuff it really works and she loves them (some apple treat things) good luck

  6. Sometimes it is not the hamster. It's Cage might  require cleaning.Make sure you clean his wheel and his play area if you have one.You could give him a bath using water only. I think there is powder you can buy.

  7. Clean the cage often.

If that does not work and the hamster sill has a bad smell.  Take him to the vet.  There might be a health issue.

Do not use perfumes and stuff like that.  It's not good for them.

  8. Try using CareFresh™ paper bedding. It is a bit more expensive than normal woodshavings, but worth it (it really helped with my two Syrian hamsters 'scent', plus, you only have to clean the hamster's cage once every two weeks)

PS. See this page on my site - http://roborovskihamsters.webs.com/beddi... for all the info about which hamster bedding and nesting material is best for your budget and your hamster.

  9. clean its cage at least once a week. clean where it uses the bathroom most once a day just pic out the wet bedding. if its a girl they go in heat every 4 days and they give out a musky odor its horrible.dnt give it a bath!!! the petstore may have clothes to clean your hamster with. you could try that.

  10. clean its cage twice a week, wash down ALL the parts in hot, soapy water. give him a dust bath w/ chinchilla dust once or twice a week. if your using aspen woodchips, switch t somethimg more absorbent like CAREFRESH =]

  11. Well, I would clean it's cage more often like 2 times or more a week.

  12. Clean its cage more frequently.  We own two hamsters and neither of them smell.  Hamsters should clean themselves similar to cats.
