  1. My opinion, prisons are not unpleasant enough. Inmates have a gym to workout in, some get a TV, they get to play basket ball outside, two meals a day, and a phone call everyday. Unpleasant? People who commit crimes and get released, most of them return right back to prison two weeks later to enjoy the easy life that they received there because they can't handle it in the real world. I think all the entertainment things should be removed. Prison is suppose to be a punishment, not a reward.

  2. Well if it was my paper, I'd start with a hypothesis that you will prove or disprove in your essay. I'd say something like "Prisons are unpleasant because it's inhumane to lock people in cells, especially in solitary confinement." Then I would find data (news articles, journals etc.) that show both sides of the argument (What did they do while in their cell? Is the punishment effective? Do the prisoners themselves feel it is inhumane or do they accept it as a consequence for their crimes?) and then I would put all of the information I gathered together in the conclusion to prove or disprove my original point.
