I Have To Do Community Service And If I Take Off Work I'll Come Up Short On My Rent And Bills, So I Can't Afford To Take Off Work, And I Have Nobody I Can Borrow From. I've Tried To Explain This To The Judge But He Doesn't Care...He's Not You So It Doesn't Bother Him What You're Going Through...What I Don't Understand Is Why Are Courts So Easy On Drunk Drivers Than They Are People Driving On A Suspended License...I've Seen Them Get A Smack On The Rist For Things They Want To Give Me Jail Time For ( When I Was Just Trying Top Get To Work!)...It's Unbelievable! Anyway Is There Any Advice Out There. God Knows I Could Use It.

  1. No there probably isn't a way to pay off community service.  You should be able to find some kind of community service that you can do on the weekends or after work.  They are easier on DUI people because most still have their license.  If you were driving on a suspended license, you shouldn't have been driving at all.  You obviously did something to lose your license and that is why they are harder on you, because this isn't your first wrong doing, that is why they are harder on you than somebody who has committed their first DUI.  I'm sure you could have found another way to get to work like public transportation, a friend, a bike, etc or find a job closer to where you are living.

  2. no...they're on to that scam.  You have to show your i.d.  You'll have to do community service around your work hours - or cut back on other luxuries so you wont be short on your bills.

  3. There are plenty of community service activities you can do after work and on weekends. Quit whining and get it done.
