Yes, Michigan has two types of casinos.

The ones in Detroit are well regulated and there are three, MGM Grand, Motor CIty Casino, and Greektown Casino (Greektown is in bankruptcy at the moment). They offer a pretty good experience and are a lot of fun.

We also have Indian Casinos all over the state, well outside of the Detroit area, and they are a bit less regulated. I have not played one in years now, they just got really greedy, and the chances of winning in them are low.

Yes there are lots of casino boats all along the coast in Florida as well a a few brick&mortar ones (primarily the various Hard Rock Indian casinos). In the upper NY area (where I'm currently working), there's a nice big one about midway between Syracuse and Utica.
