This is a question raging on for centuries

But if space is endless how could we be the only beings alive?

I want to hear what you want to say! You can say what ever you want (relating to life on mars) I want to hear what you think about if there is or was live on mars!

  1. When they find it I will say yes. Until then I will say no.

So, all I can say is maybe.

  2. Yes I think there was life on Mars and Earth today is just an extension of what existed there.     It is just impossible for the complexity of the human species to have been borne out of some primitive Earth bound 'soup'.

  3. there was life on mars, but due to its thin atmosphere and magnetic poles, the solar flares from the sun tore most of the atmosphere away and is very unlikely to harbor any form of life except microorganisms (possibly)

  4. ask david bowie.

  5. In order for life to exist on Mars, its "dynamo" would have to be reactivated. This would have to be done either thru mechanical, electrical, chemical or magnetohydrodynamic means. A dynamo creates the magnetic field which deflects cosmic radiation, while an atmosphere would protect it from gamma, x-ray and  uv radiation.  Cosmic radiation consists of galactic, solar, extragalactic, ultra high energy, and anamolous rays.

A magnetic field also protects any water from being photo-dissociated by solar uv, a process which strips hydrogen from water molecules while the solar wind blows them off into space. Mars once had flowing rivers, but lost all of its water and atmosphere due to photo-dissociation by solar uv radiation. There are 160+ moons in our solar system that need dynamos built into them to make them habitable.

Mechanical vibrations can provide the friction required to produce plate tectonic-like motion in the crust. If enough heat is generated thru this friction, magma may form and fall towards the core, reactivating the defunct dynamo. I'd bring a bunch of washing machines, jackhammers, TURBINES, power tools, motorcycles and blenders up there to shake things up, sort of a "global shakeup".  This process may take 50 to 100 years though.  Superconducting Rings on the other hand, would create a magnetic field as soon as a persistent current is induced in the ring.  Then it's just a matter of drilling a hole and burying the ring in the globe.  This'll also lessen the severity of the dust storms known to occur in the spring and summer when Mars is closest to the Sun, and the solar radiation stirs up the dust, while CO2 coupled with the Coriolis Effect exacerbates it.

Alternatively, we can bore a shaft and pour in molten liquid iron-nickel-cobalt, add some polonium, radium, etc. and throw in some water and sodium (Na) for good measure. This ensures an eternal inferno is roaring deep down in the mantle to stoke a fire in the core.

If all else fails, we'd have to install a Superconducting Ring (between 4 to 14 Tesla in strength, depending on how much iron/nickel is resident in the core to begin with) to artificially generate a magnetic field.  The Ring runs on a "persistent current" which is estimated to last 10^23 years. It'd have to be sealed in a liquid helium tank much like an MRI machine.

  6. well the latest reseaches proved that there was water on mars but they hadn't found any sign of life there because the pressuer and the climet is so differnt from earth also there is no oxegen in there listen in my religion el eslam the holly quran said that there only one live and then our death  so when allah wants us to die we will die

  7. There was life on mars once. Bacteria dose count as life, but it died when the planets core went dead.

  8. mars used to have an atmosphere and they're pretty sure it has water. an atmosphere would mean that it was once warm so water would be in liquid form and its believed that if theres liquid water, theres life.

unfortunatly mars's magnentic field died out and the suns solar winds could bombard the planet which stripped away its atmosphere

  9. I don't think so but you know how there are several differen't universes but we have never actually traveled outside our universe? Well I think that there is probably life on a just one planet in every universe..yep. :)

  10. It's a good possibility...

Mars is very close to the "Goldi-Locks" Zone in our solar system. The "Goldi-Locks" Zone is a zone that has the potential to harbor life on existing planets within it.

Earth is in this zone and I believe Mars resides either on the outer brim or just outside of it.

Logically, you must assume that life isn't rare considering the billions upon billions of stars in the universe to produce the energy necessary for it.

Within our own solar system, Mars seems to fit the profile.

    Water is the key...

With the help of the Mars Recon Orbiter, NASA has been able to observe channels made by water. They've also been successful in detecting water ice from the Global Surveyor; the Mars Phoenix Lander confirmed that speculation this month. The lander also found that the soil is aklaline, which means it's basically like the soil you'd find in your backyard.

So, with the confirmation of water ice, the obeservations of water channels, the alkaline soil, and the planet residing in the Goldi-locks Zone... Yea, it was and is still very possible.

Anyday now, we'll all turn on the news and find out we aren't alone in the univese, and life, it seems, is just next door.

  11. I believe that there was never life on Mars.

I do believe however that there is life in another galaxies.  I believe this because Out of the whole universe i find it almost impossible for us to be the only living thing.

If i was to say that there was life on mars it would be that we would of had to go there and place something on there and say "look what we found a form of life!!"  But i also believe that the other life or aliens are to smart to come near earth, or even in our galaxies.  Why would they want to interfere with our lives and get into our problems?  Think as it if we did find proof that there was another planet that had life on it.  Would be stupid enough to go and try to invade there planets without knowing what they are like or anything??

But i do not believe that there has or will ever be any life on Mars while were living!
