  1. it seems everyone has a samsung that its getting a bit samey!

there are some good pioneer and sony tvs and for the ultimate hd opt for full 1080p

if you cant top your 26"samsung get a 32"

  2. Don't listen to this kid. Compare the pixel measurements. Samsung is just as good as Sony. Things like Olivia aren't good. Samsungs one of the best with sony.

  3. That's a tough question because I'm not sure what Samsung you are looking at. If both are 720p, then go with the much bigger Sony. However, I would try and get a 1080i or 1080p if at all possible. Especially if you are using it with a PS3, that actually sends out a HD signal. Maybe try Best Buy or something and ask if you can buy a floor model of a 1080 LCD so you can save a couple hundred.

But you are definitely on the right track by looking at LCD. If you want to play games on the TV make sure you do not buy a plasma. Not only are LCDs more vibrant, but you do not risk screen burn in with LCDs like you do with Plasma.

  4. I prefer Samsung to Sony.  I have heard some horror stories about some Sony LCD tvs where one of the internal circuit boards gets fried and the warranty is dicey.  VERY expensive to repair and hence why this may be a refurbished unit (likely a return to the factory).  In a lot of cases, companies do not correct   known (to them) circuit design flaws and Caveat Emptor to the owner.

  5. According to Consumer Reports, the Panasonic 37" TV was the highest rated, with a score of 76/100. The Sony and Samsung each had a score of 69/100, but the Samsung was better with their little circle ratings. A NEW Sharp TV could be had for almost $200 less than the refurbished Sony you are looking at. Sharp is  consistently rated among the top TV's, and the Aquos line is Emmy-winning for its picture quality.

If you have an account at Consumer Reports, check this out. The they do not test every model, so it is not completley accurate when you are thinking of buying different models.

  6. Yeah, definitely! Sony has some of the best quality tvs around. I would get the sony instead of the samsung
