is the sony bravia v series KDL-40v2000 a full hd or can it at least play a standard dvd in a up scaling 1080p dvd player well or is there no point on buying an up scaling 1080p dvd player specs on tv:

  1. This HDTV has a 720p resolution. It is not a "Full HDTV" because it does not have 1080p resolution.

    This HDTV is capable of receiving a 1080p signal, though a 1080p signal will be downscaled to the native resolution (720p). When setting-up your DVD player to support this TV, it would be best to set its up-scale resolution to 720p. In fact, it would be best to set it to 768p if that option is available.
