Question:

Is This The Best Way To Prepare For A Cricket Match ?

I am a teenager playing in a very high level cricket competition,

Our two day games start at 1 on a saturday and 12 on a sunday...

Usually all the players meet at our training ground about 10 o'clock

And we have a light run, catching practice, easy net sessions and a long stretch - ending it with a team meeting ...

All the players are sipping water, stretching a lot, wearing their upper or lower body compression garments to keep their muscles warm and wearing their compulsory club training clothes...

All this takes about 2 hours - leaving the players 30 minutes to get to the ground and thirty minutes specific warm ups for batting or bowling ...

Is this the best way to prepare for a long days cricket ?

  1. It sounds right. Very regimented. Perhaps if you talk to other coaches to get their views.

In my day we got to the oval, set up the boundary markers and started play. (With the odd cold tinnie thrown in).

  2. In my point of veiw.It is correct. But you have to consult some experience players or coches for this.
