Question:

Is This the most Hate Filled Election Ever?

I believe that this will be remembered as the most Smear Mongering and Hate Filled election in our Nation history

We have become a country that is obsessed with politics and promoting political agenda

People from BOTH ENDS of the political spectrum feel completely justified in verbally smear or physically attacking someone who has different viewpoints from them

What is causing this have we become so selfish and intolerant of others we have stopped seeing them as fellow human beings also.

What is causing the belief that there is nothing wrong with attacking an elderly person just because they belong to a different political party

If this is true than our Nation is like a plane that is in a Death Spin headed for a crash

Political Spin Doctors on cable are making millions of dollars each year so they can tell you what you want to hear

What will our country be like by the 2016 or 2020 elections will there be non stop riots in the streets

Hate makes your mind sick, and we are becoming a very mentally sick country with our growing hate filled obsession with politics

Thank You for your time

Your feedback is appreciated

  1. Not even close!

  2. YES.  There's hate from all sides.  I hate the Republicans for electing Dubya for two terms.  But I also hate the Democrats are losing 5 of the past 7 elections and then bulldozing a winning candidate just because she was a woman.  Now it looks like a powerful woman is going to make them sit down and shut up.  That woman is Sarah Palin.

The irony is so friggin' sweet I can taste it.

  3. Well if you've got some plank like Obama running for presidency, obviously there's gonna be hate.

  4. It's the internet, the information highway. When Reagan swept up the Dems words on the street were nasty. They could easily compare with today if the technology had been available.

  5. do a little research on american politics first, read the John Adams book that came out a few years ago, heck even look it up on Wikipedia.  this is tame compared to some elections in the past

  6. This is the first election in which there has been Yahoo! Answers, which allows people to vent anonymously to those who disagree with them.

That, and only that, is what makes this election appear more hate-filled than others.  In the not-too-distant past, elections were in fact accompanied by riots in the streets--for example, in 1968.

A certain segment of the population has always been obsessed with politics.  These people are merely more visible than they used to be, thanks to the Internet, which allows anyone with a computer to mouth off.

  7. NO, research John Q. Adams Vs. Andrew Jackson- The start of mudslining

  8. This is not hateful.  This one of the most important elections of our time.  We have been suffering the last 8 years- All of us.  This is an historic election and so many barriers are being broken down.  All's fair in love and politics my friend.

  9. Yes, the liberal hate is truly amazing. So much for being the party of tolerance.

  10. Have a quote:

"In a classic campaign speech in rural northern Florida, Smathers told his audience that Pepper was "a shameless extrovert" who was known to have engaged in "nepotism" with his sister-in-law, "whose sister was once a thespian" in wicked New York City, and who was acknowledged to have "practiced celibacy" before his marriage.

"The Smathers smear worked. He defeated Pepper by almost 67,000 votes."

  11. You need to bone up on your history.  Even the first political elections in our country have been "hate filled" as you put it.  Smear is part of politics.  It part of the vetting process.  It is a tendency every generation has that we live in the most devisive and troubling times.  I assure you we are not going to have riots over our current political climate, and even if we were to - it wouldn't be out of the norm.  we've had riots before as well.

relax - regardless of who your  party is and no matter who is elected we will probably be OK.

  12. yes it is, and it is mostly because of the terrible BIG MEDIA

  13. Yes I would think so since one party has the 1st female and another has the 1st black (even though he is half white!)

    It should get interesting.

  14. well i think  mccain is ruining his reputation by going negative so early! once you start with that it all goes down hill.

  15. its the end of the world as we know it. i think the focus on celebrities have taken the eyes off whats RIGHT AND WRONG and more focus on personal stuff that wasnt so easy to get to in the days before camera phones, youtube etc...so now the focus is on attacking each others personal lifes instead of attacking the issues
