Is TiVo better than Time Warner Cables DVR? What are the pros and cons?

I am trying to decide if I should get rid of my DVR option through Time Warner Cable and purchase a TiVo. Time Warner Cable DVR has many problems and I am wondering if TiVo is better.

In a word:  yes.

The difference between a Time Warner DVR and a TiVo DVR is like night and day.  The cable company DVR is not user friendly and seems about 10 years behind the TiVo.

I wish someone would answer your question. I've had nothing but service problems with Time Warner Cable...and I'm paying for digital phone, digital TV, and high speed Internet. It seems like the more I spend with them, the worse their delivery gets!

I have Time Warner Cable with DVR and it works fine most of the time its the DVR box itself and not Time Warner
