Is TiVo worth the money?

I have digital cable with HD. Is it better to get the DVR with the cable or TiVo? What are the pro's and con's?

I think it's worth it. I have DVR, And its amazing. I think DVR is much better then TiVo, It has much more space on it.

I would not buy a TiVo.  I have a DVR and have upgraded it probably 5 times in 2 years; a couple times for hardware problems and a couple times due to a change in technology  Since I leased it from the cable company it was free.  If I had purchased a TiVo I would be out of luck.

DVR rocks though.. you will really enjoy it.

No, Not  when you can get a DVR upgrade from your cable or Satellite provider. It's not worth buying. I have a DVR and sold my TIVO.

Yes, or get a dvr form direct tv or dish network or somthing like that. We got a DVR which is like a TIVO and we love it. We use all of the features. Trust me its worth it.
