Tiger is number one, right now. Eventually, even he will get knocked off of that pedistal. There are kids out there right now that look at him as their idol, one of them may just be the one to take the top position.

Tiger still has a way to go to overshadow Nicklaus and Snead in total wins, but he's closing fast.

He's the top golfer in the world and, in my opinion, the best there will be. He's sure to break the record for most PGA tour wins in his career and most people say that he's the top current athlete. I would also put him in ranks with Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, and Dan Marino.

personally i think Ben Hogan was the best there ever has been, if he had the equipment that is available  today  he would have been phenomenal, i agree that tiger is the best today but i dont think it is fair to say best ever ,he may have achieved some of the best scores and he may be the most consistent but without being able to match the 2 together in their prime with the same kit its impossible to say .Hogans career was interupted due to the war ,then prematurely ended by a car crash he could have had a much better record than he has allready was it not for those events.He must have had something as people are still trying to mimic his swing today.

Ever will be .. no .. everyone thought that about Jack also .. records were made to be broken, and his will be also. Hes the greatest current player, but there is still debate if he was better than Bobby Jones.
