Question:

Is Tiger airways worth giving a try for domestic flights within Australia?

I have decided to give them a go on a return flight between Newcastle and Melbourne next week.

In the fine print I noticed that producing a copy of the itinerary plus ID is necessary for the check-in. (Jetstar and Virgin do not ask for the copy of the itinerary)

My printer will not copy the itinerary properly, including NOT printing the booking reference at all, so I have hand-written this important detail.

Thought I would ring them to check if this is OK.

No toll free number. Then I rang Melbourne long distance and could not understand the recorded options. ( An Asian female voice on the recording).

How hard has this got to be?

Interested to see if anyone else has a similar experience or has travelled happily with them on a domestic flight...

Thx

  1. Don't fly to Sydney so havent travelled with them and probably never will.

I suggest you just make sure you have the booking reference number/code and your id. They can then look up the booking themselves.

  2. i have flown twice with them no problems.

didn't need the itinery, just asked for my name and ID.

i think it's worth giving them a go, they are just a new airline trying it out! i'm sure once they've had a bit more time up their sleeve they'll have a proper call centre etc.

only problems that my friends had when we all travelled was that they had excess baggage - please note the limits of travel.
