A little bit of both.  He is immensely talented and has the strongest mental game in golf today.  Tiger intimidates the rest of the field with his physical prowess and strong mind.  Did you ever see anyone shoot a low score on Sunday when playing with Tiger?

I would say it's because he is in the zone. Tiger will hit bad shots from time to time, but he always will get back into the zone. So, I think it's concentration and being able to shrug off bad shots that's put Tiger on top of his game. The other players get down after bad shots and it affects the rest of their game.

Tigers competition is inferior but only because he is so very good.  Once every now and then a player comes along like him in every sport.  His success should be remembered as a credit to him, not as a knock against his level of competition.

Only people who don't understand golf think the competition is weak. The courses have been made more difficult in an attempt to slow him. It's only helped him. Players in the past wouldn't even make the cut today, even if they we're using modern equipment. Tiger is a child prodigy and makes his competition look bad. 6 birdies in the final 9 holes. His fellow players start to get a rash when he gets going!

Tiger is the best golfer of all time, it doesn't matter who he's playing he's probably going to win. The other players on the PGA Tour are amazing. But Tiger is far to good.

His “competition” has:  

Inferior talent.

Inferior mental game.

Inferior at handling pressure.

Inferior ball striking.

Inferior short game.

Inferior strength.

Most of all, inferior putting!!!!!

As stated before, the other players are inferior only because Tiger is SO good. Average PGA Tour players are still as good if not better than they've ever been, but Tiger is on another planet. Average fans marvel at  his length off the tee, which is funny because that's the "worst" part of his game. He is a truly amazing iron player, a great wedge player and probably the best putter EVER. He isn't just the best golfer ever, he may go down as the most dominating athlete ever. He dominates his sport more than Jordan, Ruth or Gretzky. Just take a look at the last 2 years. He plays in roughly half the tournaments and still leads the Tour in wins and money, by a large margin. That is simply amazing.
